What’s the role about?

Our client has been awarded government funding to develop a Landscape Recovery Scheme in south east Dorset centred on Wareham to the west of Poole Harbour. They, alongside their project partners, will have two years to explore how they can support and fundnature’s recovery across over 3,700 hectares of land. The project is known as Wareham Arc.

They are looking for a Senior Administrator to support the development phase of this project. You’ll provide administrative and financial assistance to the project team and project partners.

What they need from you

The Senior Administrator will lead on the following activities:

- Organising and preparing for internal and external meetings and events
- Managing diaries to enable the team to operate efficiently
- Procurement of goods and services
- Monitoring project budgets
- Preparing and co-ordinating grant reporting and monitoring
- Building and maintaining effective relationships, internally and externally
- Collating and analysing information
- Sharing best practice to benefit the continuous professional development of the wider their administrative team, both locally and across the organisation
- Any other additional administrative tasks to assist the project team

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

- Five GCSEs (or equivalent) to include Maths and English, or the ability to demonstrate work-related experience and evidence a high level of literacy
- Computer literacy - Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher, Teams and transferable skills for the use of other online packages.
- Knowledge of document management and team collaboration tools
- Knowledge of budget management terminology and processes
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Ability to organise meetings and events, and coordinate logistics
- Ability to manage competing priorities and effectively manage your own time
- Ability to take meeting notes and minutes clearly and concisely.
- Ability to proactively identify and solve problems

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

- Familiarity with project management approaches
- Knowledge of current conservation issues and priorities

Additional Information

This is a fixed-term contract ending 31st Dec 2024, working part-time (18.5 hours per week).

They will consider flexible working arrangements. The role could be primarily office-based at their Arne, Dorset, a project partner’s office or a hybrid working model of office and home-working.

Theyreserve the right to extend or make this role permanent without further advertising dependent on business needs at the end of the contract term.

They are looking to conduct interviews for this position in mid-March.
