**We are looking for a Supply Chain Principal (Equipment Management) to work for one of the top players in aerospace and defence based in Portsmouth.**
- 6-month contract
- £24.36ph PAYE or £31.67ph Umbrella

**Responsibilities**:
As a Supply Chain Principal, you will be responsible for the end to end procurement of materials and services in support of one or more of the Equipment Management Contracts. This role will be supporting the Service Delivery Manager to achieve the overall Customer driven Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) by the on time delivery of equipment spares and service repairs across The Royal Navy (RN) Fleet. You will also be leaning in to support the development of new bids and proposals for the UK Equipment Management Team. This role will provide you with the opportunity to make a big impact within a small team, owning the end to end supply chain within an exciting and growing business.

**Your main responsibilities as a Supply Chain Principal will involve: **

Procuring high volumes of materials and services through the placement of multiple purchase orders as required by the Equipment Management team in compliance with the agreed strategies & plans to meet the business and customer's requirements.

Deliver effective supplier relationship management maintaining strong, effective relationships with suppliers that are capable of withstanding set-backs. To be able to resolve relationship and performance issues and address problems at a senior level within the supplier organisation where necessary.

Developing and managing lifecycle relationships with suppliers, building brand and business opportunities whilst building an excellent understanding of the industry to identify partnering solutions.

Analysing and reporting on supplier initiatives, communicating needs and identifying opportunities for partnering in order to support the development of bids and proposals.

Determining and executing sourcing strategies within allocated category, including leading price and contractual negotiations

Leading supplier approval and on boarding process in collaboration with supporting functions.

Undertaking assessments of suppliers to determine capability, capacity and suitability for new requirements.

Monitoring and communicating suppliers key performance indicators (KPIs) ensuring schedule adherence (on time in full) and quality assurance (right first time) performance.

Adhering to Supply Chain/Supplier governance such as supplier accreditations and export controls.

Experience of high volume procurement

Ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines

Experience of delivering against or improving KPIs/performance metrics
