**GENERAL SUMMARY**

Through effective leadership this position seeks to ensure that the Business’ Quality policies and standards are built into the entire organisational processes. Through leadership of the Quality Assurance, Supplier Quality and Inspection team, the role holder will identify performance improvements, and be responsible for successful implementation of fit for purpose industry quality standards across the site. The role holder will be effective in building effective relationships and influence of peers, Quality Team and employees throughout the Cathcart site. This will support the building of the successful quality assurance, quality control, supplier quality and customer satisfaction framework.

**PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)**
- To spearhead the quality function, taking strategic responsibility for quality development with Customers, driving and further developing quality systems to ensure consistency, sustainability and standardisation to meet and exceed customer demands.
- To develop and embed a quality culture throughout all aspects of the business through engagement and encouragement of employees to increase awareness and build clear responsibilities.
- To actively encourage a culture of customer focus, continuous improvement and Quality excellence.
- To ensure professional handling of non-conformities and customer complaints, assuring that the root causes are clearly defined and corrective actions are implemented and sustained, and that the necessary documentation is properly prepared and communicated.
- To ensure that key performance indicators are issued and continuously monitored and promoted to encourage a culture of continuous improvement.
- To ensure the organisation implements quality plans compliant with customer and industry standards.
- To monitor and survey design outputs, manufacturing processes inputs and outputs, undertaking audits to evaluate and ensure compliance. Ensuring component traceability process and effective process monitoring.
- Management of internal and external audit schedules.
- Build effective relationships across all functions who are internal clients of the Quality function.

- Proficient in value steam mapping across multiple functions.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Educated to degree level or equivalent with related experience / training, or equivalent combination of education and additional practical and professional experience.
- Significant experience in quality, preferably in the pump manufacturing, nuclear power or Oil and Gas sectors.
- Can define efficient and effective quality systems from first principles and influence through best practice.
- Position requires a dynamic individual who is a team player and has a solid understanding of the quality processes in major projects across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.
- Past successful experience of working in an international quality environment.
- Significant experience in ensuring compliance with National and International standards such as GS-R-3, ISO 9001, ISO18001, ISO14001, ISO27001.
- Demonstrated ability to influence the Quality aspects of complex contractor and subcontractor supplier relationships nationally and internationally.
- Demonstrated ability and knowledge of analysing the business and to optimise standards.
- Influential and provides constructive challenge which is accepted by others.
- Builds effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Possesses a recognised Quality qualification and accreditation.
- Demonstration of managing quality improvement programmes successfully is essential.
- Extensive knowledge of how to perform a risk based approach to quality management is essential.
