Peterborough Limited are recruiting a Building Surveyor to work as part of their team based in Peterborough.

**General purpose**:
General practice building surveyor to undertake a variety of roles within a busy Property team, who deliver a range of property services to Peterborough City Council across their Estate. This will include corporate, civic, commercial, education, residential, community, leisure and culture, etc sites.

The service provision includes planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and planned works.

The primary role will be to support the existing team of surveyors in undertaking condition surveys; instructing and managing reactive maintenance works; capital works projects - to include all aspects from the initial design brief/tender preparation/ contract administration/handover; undertaking post completion inspections, etc.

**Key deliverables**:

- Excellent communication skills.
- Confident in a Client-facing role.
- Inspection of built assets.
- Managing work schedules, to include programming the management of site surveys and site works.
- Reporting back to and providing regular progress updates to the Property Services Manager, team Share Points.
- Preparing and completing scheduled reports of inspection findings.
- Preparing and evaluating tenders for project works.
- General building surveyor duties to support the existing surveyor team.

**Requirements - experience**:

- Experience of undertaking all works relevant to the role as advertised.
- Demonstrable report writing skills.
- H&S experience, particularly the preparation and evaluation of risk assessments and method statements.
- Use of MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Ability to use AutoCAD to an intermediate level.
- Knowledge and experience of working with JCT contracts, Public Procurement Regulations, CDM.
- Previous experience of taking the Contract Administrator role on construction projects

**Requirements - qualifications**
- BSc (Hons) degree in building surveying or equivalent.
- Clean driving licence and own vehicle which is insured for business use.
- Successful completion of enhanced DBS clearance check..
