Our client is seeking a proactive Senior Commercial Operations Manager to enhance their team. This position emphasizes the management of subcontractors while delivering essential commercial insights to engineering and project management teams.
About the Role:
As a Senior Commercial Operations Manager, you will:
Lead a team of 4-10 Senior Quantity Surveyors (SQS) and Quantity Surveyors (QS).
Offer commercial guidance and support to engineers and project managers.
Oversee and manage NEC subcontracts (all options).
Source subcontractors, draft agreements, and ensure adherence to existing templates.
Handle manual contract administration through various communication channels and tracking systems for tasks such as AfP, CE, and EWN.
Engage in on-site work and remote collaboration, with periodic site visits across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Directly manage subcontractors, ensuring compliance with contracts and project schedules.
Strategically oversee commercial operations, from procurement to contract management.
Facilitate effective communication and documentation using established templates.
Conduct regular site assessments to evaluate subcontractor performance and address any challenges.
Provide leadership and mentorship to the SQS/QS team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
About You:
Demonstrated experience in a main contractor capacity, particularly in subcontractor management.
Technically proficient with significant managerial experience.
Skilled in NEC subcontract management (all options).
Able to manage manual contract administration processes effectively.
Experience in the water sector is advantageous but not mandatory.
Strong procurement capabilities, with the ability to draft agreements based on existing templates.
Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
Experience in team management is essential.
