The purpose of this Planner role is to control stock levels and ensure the efficient least cost planning of a very fast-moving environment.
**Main responsibilities will include**:
- To manage the stock within both the order picking area and production to understand the manufacturing priorities
- Producing daily and weekly production plans
- Identifying any stock shortages and rectifying through plan amendment
- Working closely with the procurement department to ensure optimum levels of raw material are available to achieve the plan
- Analysing sales data, looking for sales trends and amending factory plans accordingly
- To ensure the most cost-effective plan is produced minimising changeovers and production runs

**Additional Information** Base working hours for this Planner role are Monday to Friday, 05.00 - 14.00 or 06.00 - 15.00 and one in three Saturdays 07.00 - 12.00. The role will require additional flexibility in working hours to meet the needs of the business.

- Good communication skills
- Ability to develop good working relationships with managers in other areas of the business, to deliver the common goals of the business in terms of profitability and provision of agreed service levels to customers
- Willingness to embrace change, and develop people within your team
- The ability to work to tight deadlines with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
- A strong commercial understanding of the business
- Effective communicator [verbal and written] and good at listening
**Competencies and personal characteristics**
- Is used to / capable of working in a cold environment

- Flexible in approach to accommodate business needs
- Team player who builds good working relationships at all levels and collaborates cross functionally
- Able to work on own initiative, demonstrates good judgement, and makes sound timely decisions
**Desirable Skills**:
- Experience of working within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods sector
- Stock control experience desirable
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures
- IT literate [experience of ERP]
**Qualifications and education requirements**
A background in fresh chilled meat/poultry is preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
