Logistics Administrator

The Opportunity:
Avantor is looking for a dedicated Logistics Administrator to be primarily responsible for tracking and tracing parcels that are in transit to destinations all over the world.
The role will be a full-time, hybrid position with occasional travel to our MESM, Chorley site. You will have the opportunity to be part of an amazing team that provides a global service modified to our customer’s individual needs. The team
Avantor’s Shipping Administrator is part of a team of 17 with a high-performance culture that is responsible for tracking and tracing parcels all over the world while having a persuasive approach to resolve issues associated with carrier failures, customs clearance and other factors that may impact smooth delivery to our customer sites.
What we’re looking for
- Experience: previous administrative experience within logistics or/and supply chain preferred but not essential; willingness to learn and ability to adapt to a fast pace working environment required
- Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Word and Excel
- Highly attentive to details
- Time management
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently
How you will thrive and create an impact
Tracking and expediting all shipments daily and working to resolve any delays with Carriers, Freight Forwarders and Customs etc.
Communicating with internal stakeholders providing updates on delays and requesting information to expedite shipments.
Updating the system with all tracking details and save the Proof of Delivery for future reference.
Responsible for producing accurate and timely reports to support customer and business needs.
Carrying out invoice verification for all shipments, ensuring that the Invoice value matches the standard, or the cost quoted.
Responsible for maintaining an accurate electronic and manual filing system in relation to all Despatch Documentation in line with requirements for HMRC audit.
Managing shared mailboxes in line with requirements ensuring timely and accurate responses and ensuring the mailbox is accurately categorised and filed appropriately.
Completing other ad-hoc duties and provide general administrative support to the Distribution & Warehousing Team.
