We are looking for a part time MEP Clerk of Works working on a new build scheme of 22 apartments in Wandsworth. The shell and core works (completed by a Main Contractor) are due to finish eminently and a separate fit-out contractor will be delivering the fit-out works for the remaining construction programme - c.10 months. They wish to appoint a M&E Clerk of Works to ensure that the works comply with the contract documents.

The client has requested one days attendance per week initially.

Site address is 190-194 St Ann's Hill, Wandsworth, London, SW18 2RT.

Scope of works

1) Site Inspection for non-compliant Works

1.1 Visit the Site during the carrying out of the Works from time to time to achieve the required visibility on site, or as necessary to confirm that the Works are executed generally in accordance with the Construction Documents, with good practice, and that the defined quality of works is being achieved.

1.2 Inform the Project Manager as identified by or agreed with the Employer (any oral communications to be immediately confirmed in writing) of any matters which are observed on Site which indicate that the Works are not being executed generally in accordance with the Construction Documents, with good practice or that the defined quality of works is not being achieved.

1.3 Ensure as far as reasonably practical that any non-compliant work is promptly corrected.

1.4 Monitor and inspect all action taken to remedy any non-compliant work to confirm that the work is generally in accordance with the Construction Documents and to good practice.

1.5 Advise upon the need for any specialist tests or inspections arising during the carrying out of the Works. Monitor any such tests as may be instructed by the Employer and report to the Employer thereon.

1.6 Advise on the extent of any non-compliant work to assist the Cost Consultant and Project Manager
- Employers Agent in the valuation of works properly executed in accordance with the Construction Documents

1.7 Prepare a weekly site visit report following any site inspection using the Employer's preferred reporting format (exact format to be confirmed) and procedure reporting on observations of the Works during the visit or visits to the Site.

1.8 The site visit reports shall be issued to and discussed with the Contractor on the day of the visit and thereafter issued using a summary report on an agreed basis to the Project Manager-Employer's Agent.

1.9 Review and update all summary site visit reports for their inclusion within a detailed report for each monthly meeting with the Project Manager-Employers Agent. This is to be copied to the Employer.

1.10 Assist, when requested, the Project Manager-Employers Agent in preparing a schedule of defects, prior to Sectional / Practical Completion. These are to be recorded with digital photographs
