Procurement Lead

These are exciting times for the charity, and we have an excellent opportunity for a proactive and highly professional individual with outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills to join the busy Procurement Team as Procurement Lead.

**Position**: Procurement Lead

**Location**:Sidmouth, Devon/Hybrid (onsite attendance currently estimated to be 2-3 days per week)

**Salary**:£46,228 per annum

**Hours**:35 hours per week, 08.30-16.30, Monday-Friday

**Contract**:Permanent

**Closing Date**:24th January**

**The Role**

As Procurement Lead, you will support the Head of Procurement in the development of the implementation and delivery of Procurement Strategy and associated Policy. Engaging with key stakeholders and building strong working relationships to identify businessneeds, you will influence third party spend and build a detailed understanding of the supply chains in the business area that you are aligned to. You will identify opportunities that deliver maximum value and ensuring that suppliers are consistent with thehighest ethical standards.

Your principal duties and responsibilities will include:

- Overall responsibility for the strategic sourcing management goals within your category
- Analysing spend and industry trends and evolving technologies to proactively identify supply base issues to minimise risk, protect continuity of supply and utilise emerging opportunities.
- Developing and delivering a portfolio of procurement strategies
- Implementing supplier agreements and contracts
- Responsibility for negotiations and developing ‘win-win’ strategies that achieve sustainable relationships with key suppliers and best possible service delivery.
- Understanding volume demand for products, services and works within your category
- Ensuring the effective management of the roles for which you have direct responsibility

**About You**

As Procurement Lead, you will be a full member of The Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or will possess equivalent acquired experience.

You will have:

- Experience of category management and/or managing the end-to-end procurement cycle and project management skills.
- The ability to identify opportunities for structuring contracts that are advantageous for the Charity
- Experienced of incorporating ethical and sustainable considerations into procurement decisions at all stages of the procurement cycle alongside conventional considerations such as cost and quality.
- Strong internal and external stakeholder relationship development and management skills
- Practical working knowledge of legal terminology and language related to supplier agreements and contracts.
- An awareness and practical experience of deploying different negotiation and influencing strategies/tactics according to different situations.
