Procurement Specialist

These are exciting times for the charity, and we have an excellent opportunity for two proactive and highly professional individuals with outstanding interpersonal and influencing skills to join the busy Procurement Team, as Procurement Specialists.

**Position**:Procurement Specialist

**Location**:Sidmouth, Devon/Hybrid (onsite attendance currently estimated to be 2-3 days per week)

**Salary**:£38,874 per annum

**Hours**:35 hours per week, 08.30-16.30, Monday-Friday

**Contract**:Permanent

**Closing Date**: 24th January

**The Role**

As Procurement Specialist you will be responsible for the delivery of all procurement activity within the business area that you are aligned to, offering leadership, guidance and support to key internal stakeholders, and will work collaboratively with externalstakeholders, ensuring best value for money and procedural and contractual compliance, and that our suppliers maintain the highest ethical standards.

Your principal duties and responsibilities will include:

- Developing and delivering the Category Sourcing Strategies for the business area that you are aligned to, undertaking focused spend analysis activities to maximise leverage and strategic efficiencies and assessing and understanding trends and opportunities.
- Developing and delivering a portfolio of procurement strategies within your business area, working with stakeholders to plan and programme the work, prioritise workload and challenge demand and managing the resultant procurement and tendering process frompre-procurement to post-award of contract.
- Establishing, developing and nurturing internal and external stakeholder relationships, taking full responsibility for supplier management and vendor catalogues in spend areas where third party spend is determined as corporate.
- Facilitating key internal stakeholders’ understanding of the Procurement Strategy and Policy to ensure that best practice is carried out when procuring goods, services and/or works for the Charity.
- Engagement in the implementation of procurement change initiatives, including but not limited to supporting the implementation and use of electronic procurement technology to increase operational efficiency and transparency and release efficiencies.
- Providing accurate and timely management information, including but not limited to monitoring procurement policy compliance and third party spend, as determined by the Head of Procurement.

**About You**

As Procurement Specialist, you will be a full member of The Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or will possess equivalent acquired experience.

**You will have**:

- You will possess demonstrable experience of category management and/or managing the end-to-end procurement cycle and project management skills.
- You will be a natural and effective communicator with the demonstrable ability to target verbal and written communications appropriate to different audiences and situations.
- You will be experienced in incorporating ethical and sustainable considerations into procurement decisions at all stages of the procurement cycle alongside conventional considerations such as cost and quality.
- You will possess strong internal and external stakeholder relationship development and management skills and a successful record of displaying commercial acumen when dealing with suppliers.
- You will be able to demonstrate an awareness and practical experience of deploying different negotiation and influencing strategies/tactics according to different situations.
