**How you'll make a difference**:
As the Head of Regeneration you will lead the Councils Regeneration programme managing regional regeneration, high streets, housing delivery, economic development and digital connectivity, to deliver real benefits to the communities of South Gloucestershire and meet the council’s place shaping objectives.

**What will you be doing**
- You will Lead and manage teams overseeing Regeneration, Strategic Housing Enabling and Economic Development and Digital Connectivity, with a revenue budget of £4.5m and responsibility for the management and delivery of a capital programme circa £150m over the next 5 years.
- In the role you will interpret national strategy for regeneration, transport policy and infrastructure and translate this into a local policy and investment strategy reflecting local priorities and manage a collection of teams to deliver against this framework.
- You will oversee and influence partner programmes and policies to ensure that the local priorities for South Gloucestershire are reflected and maximise investment in the area.
- Leading and managing the council’s interface into the West of England Combined Authority you will maximise investment and representation of needs in South Gloucestershire and that economic development and digital connectivity function to ensure economic prosperity.
- In the role you will lead the delivery of extensive infrastructure programmes with partner organisations, including the West of England Combined Authority, Network Rail, Homes England and the Environment Agency, to ensuring delivery of projects.
- You will develop a pipeline of regeneration and economic development projects and identify and successfully access funding to enable their delivery and will manage teams across the council to develop and deliver these.

**What we need from you**:

- You will have a Degree or recognised relevant post graduate management qualification and a relevant professional accreditation, or have proven strategic skills and experience in regeneration.
- You must have substantial knowledge and technical expertise of the overall function and business including knowledge of all relevant legislation, statutory guidance, local policy and procedures, national codes, and multi-disciplinary practice.
- We require you to have proven experience of strategic development, sustaining strategic partnerships understanding and influencing the interconnectivities and delivering strategic policy direction and leadership, operational management and financial control.
- It is essential that you have a substantial level of strategic leadership experience, providing depth and breadth of knowledge to act with credibility at this level both internally and externally and excellent team management experience of professional, qualified staff in a complex area.
- You will have strong financial and commercial acumen with significant experience in strategically managing budgets and financial expenditure, developing and identifying income generation opportunities.
- You must have extensive knowledge of delivering against equality, diversity and inclusion objectives within relevant service areas clearly using performance measures to identify imbalances and advance equality of opportunity for all.
