Frome, United Kingdom Aspris Full time

Newbury Manor School is recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our Education team We are looking for versatile, resilient and committed Teaching Assistants, who can adapt their practice wherever necessary to support across all key stages.

Newbury Manor School is a specialist school for 40 young people aged 7 to 19 who have autistic spectrum disorders (ASD). Our tailored approach means we are able to support young people with a wide range of needs, from those who are broadly average in their ability to others, who have more severe learning difficulties.
We provide a total environment where young people are offered safe, secure and predictable surroundings in which they can come to understand their own areas of difficulties and learn skills and techniques in order to overcome them. This ensures that they are able to fulfil their potential socially, academically, physically and spiritually and enable them to rebuild their low self-esteem and self-belief.

We take pride in the environment we can offer. The school is located in a beautiful, quiet, rural location in Somerset in a Georgian manor house, which has a range of outbuildings and extensive grounds. Our ethos was created in the belief that a positive, supportive, achieving culture is essential for good pupil progress. We seek to maximise independence and individual potential so pupils gain the skills to live happy, meaningful and fulfilling lives.

**Our benefits include**:

- ** Exclusive access to reward and discount scheme**:

- ** Blue Light discount card**:

- ** Flexible working**:

- **Relocation package**:

- ** Comprehensive induction**:

- ** Commitment to your ongoing training and career progression**:

- ** Paid for enhanced PVG/DBS**:

- ** Wellbeing support**:

- ** Cycle to work scheme and more**

As an HLTA you will be a key member of our education support team, working closely with a specialist team of Teachers to deliver personalised curriculum packages that motivate and inspire our students. Classroom experience is essential, as you will be required to assist teachers in the whole planning cycle and the management and preparation of resources; occasionally you will also supervise whole classes.

**About you**:

- Experience of supporting children with SLD and complex needs would be an advantage, as would experience of supporting and supervising other staff.
- You will contribute to the effective implementation of individual programmes by supporting the teaching and learning, social and independence activities and experiences, which enhance the learning and development of children and young people.
- You must also be able to demonstrate a high degree of emotional resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Holding a full driving licence with three years driving experience would be beneficial.
- You must have a QCF Diploma Level 3 (NVQ3) in Teaching and Learning or equivalent internal and external recognised qualification.

At Aspris Children’s Services, we are immensely proud of the career pathway and training we can offer you. As long as you can demonstrate the values needed for a role, transferable skills and life experience, we will give you all the training and support you need to progress

**Resilience **- We support some of the most vulnerable children in society who have varying degrees of emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and associated difficulties so there will be times where your resilience is challenged.

**Communication **- Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Good teamwork and communication plays a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.

**Organisation **- Strong organisational skills are important to support the class teacher and young people with educational activities

**Caring **- Our young people require the best care we can offer. If you are a naturally caring and compassionate person, this is the role for you.

**Attentive **- No two tasks will be the same so being attentive to understand them and identify areas where we can support is important.

Above all, we provide a supportive and collaborative working environment where you can flourish in your career and feel incredibly rewarded by helping those who need it most.
- If you want residential childcare to be a _**_job for life_**_, Aspris Children’s Services will help you get there._

Aspris is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All applicants must be willing to undergo safeguarding screening appropriate to the post, including checks with Disclosure & Barring Service and at least 2 references which cover the last 3 years; for all our services we will request references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults. Please be advised that references may be requested prior to interview for roles within our Schools.
