My client is currently recruiting a Construction Assurance Manager to lead and act as a NEC Supervisor on a large E-Waste recycling industrial project in the East London/Kent area. Not only is this an exciting, career defining project, but you will be joiningthe Construction Assurance team of this multidisciplined engineering company in a senior role just as the team embarks on significant expansion. In effect, after initially bedding-in the role could expand significantly for the right person.

Initially based on one project (for approximately 12 months), the future will look different, as you will have the opportunity to work on the construction stages of a multitude of challenging and complex infrastructure projects around the country.

You will be responsible for providing specialist civil/construction engineering advice and checking of the compliance of the project against employer's requirements, detailed design, and statutory construction standards. You will undertake the positionsof Independent Certifier, Clerk of Works, or Supervisor (NEC).

You will be an experienced construction professional with a proven track record with major infrastructure/construction projects and will have worked within NEC contracts and possess a good understanding (Ideally as a qualified NEC supervisor). You will needto be flexible in your approach and be a collaborative team player.

**Responsibilities**
- Possible Management of Construction Assurance staff including performance management, recruitment, staff management and deployment, coaching and career development
- Managing the interface with the client to ensure service provided meets requirements and achieves high levels of client satisfaction.

**Technical responsibilities**
- Ensure all construction work complies with relevant Health and Safety regulations
- Monitor the progress of the Project, making visual inspections and taking measurements and samples on site to make sure that the work and the materials meet the specifications and quality standards
- Review any proposed changes to the designs provided or to be provided by the Contractor
- Familiarisation with all the relevant drawings and written instructions, checking them, and use them as a reference when inspecting the work
- Review and ensure compliance of technical drawings
- Attend Site Progress meetings with the Contractor, Project Team and other Consultants
- Attend project meetings with the Client (in conjunction with Site Progress Meetings)
- Support the Client Project Manager with respect to management of design changes and act as interface between the Project team and the Contractor
- Establish completion criteria based on project requirements
- Management of client's technical queries
- Managing the rectification of defects
- Management of Close Out documentation and transitions

**Technical Skills, Knowledge and Experience - Essential**
- Experience of high complexity infrastructure/construction projects in one or more infrastructure sectors including energy, waste, transportation, defence, water and buildings
- Strong knowledge of UK Building regulation (Approved Documents) and all legal requirements.
- Strong knowledge of British Standards & Regulations
- Skilled in understanding and interpreting complex construction drawings
- Experienced in the management of technical queries and defects during the construction phase
- Development of project requirements and plans for the delivery of project objectives
- Development and agreeing budgets for projects and controlling forecast and actual costs against them
- Knowledge of approaches to determining the best means of satisfying requirements within the context of project objectives and constraints i.e. developing solutions
- Strong knowledge of processes for commissioning of assets prior to use in operation
- Experienced in the management of transition of infrastructure into operation

**Desirable**
- Experience of providing consultancy services to clients including client relationship development, bidding, commercial management and conflict resolution

**Qualifications and accreditations - Essential**
- MSc, Degree or HND level in Construction, Civil Engineering, Building Surveying or Architecture
- Chartered level membership of appropriate professional institution (CIOB, CIBSE, ICE, RICS, MCWCI)
- UK driving licence
