**The role**:
The role presents a great opportunity to work closely with people at the centre of the government statistical system on high-profile projects. You will use and quickly enhance knowledge about a range of public policy topics, synthesise information from different sources, analyse complex and incomplete facts and figures, and present your findings and judgements to different audiences.

**Key responsibilities**:
You will be assigned to one or two of our topic domains and will work as part of project teams, with opportunities to lead on specific projects and with groups of stakeholders. The main responsibilities for the post are set out below:

- Supporting topic domain(s) - building networks and relationships for your domain(s) to advocate for statistics and influence change; planning; horizon scanning; and communicating with audience(s) using blogs, social media, events, workshops to reach out.
- Casework interventions - investigating issues, analysing data/evidence from a range of sources, producing advice and draft correspondence for senior leadership including our Director General for Regulation and the Authority Chair. This work is fast paced and often high profile.
- Assessments, Compliance Checks and Rapid Reviews - this is the core of our regulatory work, assessing official statistics against the Code of Practice for Statistics and making sound judgments regarding whether statistics should be designated as National Statistics.
- Systemic Reviews - these are designed to go beyond issues that can be resolved with changes to individual publications and identify cross-cutting concerns and drive improvements.
- Corporate projects and events - Contributing to the development and work of the wider team to drive innovation.
