**Role Overview**:As a Seasonal Worker - Clean & Green, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces within County Durham. You will work under the direction of experienced Team Leaders and Supervisors to carry out a range of grounds maintenance and street cleansing tasks. This temporary role offers a chance to make a positive impact on the local environment while enjoying a flexible working schedule.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Perform grounds maintenance tasks, including operating machinery such as mowers, strimmers, and blowers
- Assist with planting and maintenance of shrub, rose, and flower beds
- Support arboriculture work, including loading timber and maintaining the work area
- Assist with hard landscaping tasks, lifting/carrying materials, and site tidying
- Carry out litter picking and fly tip collection duties
- Maintain tools and equipment in a safe condition
- Respond to basic inquiries from the public and refer unresolved matters to Team Leaders
- Adhere to risk assessments and safety guidelines while carrying out tasks
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Full clean driving license suitable for vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes and hand grass cutters
- Certification/competence in using vehicles/machinery related to the role
- Experience in using plant and machinery related to grounds maintenance
- Competency in the use of horticultural plant and machinery (desirable)
- Understanding of quality systems and principles of customer care (desirable)
- Experience in working with the public (desirable)

**Skills and Personal Qualities**:

- Practical knowledge of horticultural tasks such as grass cutting, strimming, and hedge trimming
- Basic understanding of health and safety requirements in the service area
- Effective oral communication skills, including communication with supervisors, colleagues, and the public
- Ability to maintain basic records and documentation
- Familiarity with County Durham and its localities
