We are a Learning Disability Day Service whose aims to provide high quality support to adults with complex learning disabilities on a 1:1, 1:2 and 1:4 ratio basis, regardless of gender, race, religion or sexual orientation.

**About The Role**

The working hours will be:
Working hours: Full Time - 37 Hours per week
Monday - Thursday - 8.45am - 4.15pm and Friday - 8.45am - 3.45pm

You will be able to demonstrate:

- Good general education, to include good literacy skills
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 Diploma in Care & Promoting Independence
- Ability to support service users in a manner that respects their privacy and dignity & empathise & follow a person-centred approach
- Able to assess needs & plan, implement & evaluate support packages that lead to greater independence for users
- Able to network & research local resources & facilities that will enhance service user involvement in their community
- Able to communicate effectively & professionally, both orally & in writing
- Able to keep and maintain accurate & confidential records
- Able to liaise effectively with all stakeholders
- Able to manage own workload & effective time management to meet deadlines & appointments.
- Ability to manage and support other team members
- Commitment to self-evaluation & reflection upon practice
- Understanding of current legislative & policy framework underpinning practice
- Commitment to anti-oppressive practice & the values of Reading Borough Council
- Competent in Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, Outlook)

You will also demonstrate a commitment to anti oppressive practice along with a flexible attitude to travelling around and working in the local area.
