Admin and Clerical Officer- Women and Children's

A vacancy has arisen within the Home Care Team for an Admin and Clerical Officer to work alongside the established team of Children’s Community Nurses.
The team are currently managed by the Paediatric & Neonatal Matron and we are looking for someone to assist in the management of everyday admin and clerical duties. Ideally you will have customer care experience both face to face and via the telephone.
Due to the sensitive nature of caring for Children and Young People who have complex medical needs an understanding and sympathetic nature is essential for this role. The team involves care given by specialist Children’s Community Nurses which includes diabetes, epilepsy, allergies, general surgery, general medicine, oncology and end of life care
The post holder will provide a comprehensive, high quality, confidential administrative service to a team of children’s community nurses.
The post holder will be expected to organise their own workload to incorporate management of information systems, monitoring of stock supplies, ordering of equipment and collation of data plus general office duties to ensure maintenance of an efficient service.
The post holder will be expected to organisation their own workload in order to maintain an efficient and professional service, triggering escalation when necessary.
The post involves object handling and collecting medical records.
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) provides good quality, safe and effective healthcare to the people of Cheshire and beyond. The Trust, which manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, was established as an NHS Trust in April 1991 and became a Foundation Trust in April 2008.

The results in the 2020 national NHS Staff Survey showed improvements in all elements of the safety culture theme, with 92% of respondents feeling their role made a difference to our patients. We were also recognised nationally for our workforce health and wellbeing initiatives.

Job description
Provide a comprehensive administrative service, typing and distribution of documents and reports, recording information, filing and sorting mail for attention
To communicate effectively with staff, parents and professionals by telephone, relaying messages either verbally, in writing or electronically to the appropriate person
Be fully conversant with all required electronic systems for correspondence, clinic appointments, case note tracking, retrieval of results plus obtaining information via the internet
Maintain electronic database to include data entry, retrieval and analysis of data, collation of monthly statistics and provision of monthly statistics reports and relaying of information to appropriate department.
Person specification
Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office.
Effective customer service skills face to face and on the telephone
Ability to work under pressure in a methodical and logical manner.
Ability to show empathy and understanding
Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
