Providing Gynae services within OUH, as per job description. The post-holder will be based primarily at the John Radcliffe and Horton Hospitals but it is a condition of the appointment that the post-holder will be willing to work in any of the Trust’s locations.
The post-holder’s duties will be to provide expert radiology services for the diagnosis and management of gynaecology disease. They will work as part of a team, with four consultants already in post and will be a contributing radiologist for the gynaecology multidisciplinary team meeting and the regional endometriosis meeting.
The Trust comprises four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington and the Horton General Hospital in Banbury.

Clinical

On-Call
On call will be on a 1 in 10 basis. The consultant will also contribute to the on site weekend working service one a 1:20 basis. It is anticipated that some extended day working will be delivered in future.
Teaching/Research
Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a teaching hospital Trust, and the post holder will be required to participate in programmes for teaching clinical students and training junior doctors, radiology trainees and radiographers. It is expected that this will be an integral
part of everyday clinical activity.
The post holder’s contribution to teaching, training and
research will be included in the regular job plan review and the Oxford Deanery is keen to remunerate these activities. Consultants involved in Medical Student teaching can receive an honorary Clinical Lectureship from the University.
The Oxford Rotational Training Scheme in Radiology provides full and comprehensive training for junior radiology medical staff. There are formal courses for the Part I and Part II FRCR examinations and all consultant radiologists are expected to contribute to these courses. During their training, registrars also obtain district general hospital experience, usually at three of the following: Wexham Park Hospital, Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading, Stoke Mandeville
Hospital in Aylesbury and Milton Keynes General Hospital
Individual Responsibilities
Clinical Radiology at the Oxford University Hospital is provided on four sites; Churchill site, Horton Site, John Radcliffe Site and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre site. General radiology, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, CT, MRI, angiography and interventional radiology are carried
out on both the Churchill and the John Radcliffe sites. The Oxford Breast Imaging Centre (OBIC) is situated at the Churchill site, as well as cancer services, elective surgery and transplant and renal services. The John Radcliffe Site encompasses the Oxford Children’s Hospital as well as neuroradiology, cardiac and vascular services, and the Major Trauma Centre.
The Horton Hospital provides accident and emergency services and acute medical services to the North Oxfordshire population as well as providing elective outpatient imaging facilities. The Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre provides specialist musculoskeletal services within Oxford and is a Regional Sarcoma Centre, and provides imaging support for the Major Trauma Centre.
Oxford is a centre for gynaecology oncology and provides a regional service for endometriosis care. The Trust also provides a high risk obstetric service. The Radiology Directorate is made up of six clinical service units (Churchill radiology, John Radcliffe radiology including children’s radiology, Neuroradiology, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre
