**Community Club Support - Southeast Hampshire**
Get paid to have fun
Social isolation is no fun; in fact it’s proven to shorten lives. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of vulnerable older people and support us in providing life extending fun and friendship through our social clubs.
Our clubs are run by volunteers and your role will be to support our volunteers in running the clubs. Whether that means assisting them with a risk assessment, helping them balance the books recruiting volunteers or, in the absence of a volunteer, leading club activities in everything from exercise and cooking clubs to dancing and singing, games and quizzes.
For more information about our clubs please visit our website.

You’ll also be able to work with a wide range of people in an inclusive way, be familiar with the voluntary sector and have an understanding of the issues affecting older people.
**What are the key responsibilities?**
The key is that you will be a clear point of contact for the club volunteers, and will support them in line with our values and strategic aims. You will be:

- Working with clubs and volunteers to create new activities and inspiring clubs programmes;
- Ensuring clubs comply with club policies, procedures and agreements;
- Alongside other Brendoncare staff, recruiting and supporting new volunteers including providing emotional and practical support to ensure they have the confidence to run the clubs;
- Facilitating both formal and informal engagement with members, actively listening to feedback from club members and volunteers.
- This role is to primarily focus on supporting the clubs out of our flagship Gosport centre as well as the areas around Gosport.
**What are we offering?**
This role can be between 25-35 hours per week. Contracted hours negotiable within this at £20,938 based on 35 hours covering South East Hampshire, especially Gosport and Fareham. The position will be home based with frequent visits to clubs and from time to time to Central Office in Winchester. You will be expected to have a car and a full clean driving licence to effectively cover the area. Mileage and expenses can be claimed. Clubs are held at various times during the week and weekends so a flexible approach to working hours will be required.

**Why Work for Us**
Brendoncare is a registered charity, dedicated to improving the quality of life for older people. Care, choice, and community are at the heart of what we do.
Brendoncare was formed in 1984 by Winchester GP, Sir Ronald Gibson, a champion of the rights of older people. Convinced they were often let down by the institutions that looked after them, he pioneered the idea of tailoring the full range of care to fit the changing needs of individuals - always offering care with discretion and dignity. Today, these principles guide all our work. To find out more about us, please go to our website.
We currently have 9 care homes across the South of England, all offering a person-centred approach to the residents we care for. In addition, Brendoncare Clubs are friendship and wellbeing clubs providing opportunities for older people to enjoy social interaction. We have over 90 clubs throughout Hampshire and Dorset.
**Brendoncare's Values**
Brendoncare exists to improve the quality of life for older people, through the provision of care homes, housing with care and clubs, offering support that is built on relationships and responds to the needs, aspirations, and choices of each individual.
Our 'Care for Life' promise means that no-one will have to leave their Brendoncare home if their financial situation changes.
