**Where do you come in?**

Joining our Control Room, your role as the Regional Technical Controller will be to ensure we maintain full control room functionality and health and security monitoring and response. You will also act as an overnight customer point of contact, assisting with any operational emergencies as they arise and ensuring that the company maintains an uninterrupted 24-hour, 365-day emergency workforce and operations centre under any circumstances.

Responsibilities include:

- identifying and monitoring serious operational issues, ensuring that any incidents are addressed, escalating any major incidents
- acting as a central point of contact for all external and internal bodies
- liaising with customers, expectation management and effectively prioritising and scheduling customer incidents to maximise workflow and meet targets
- monitoring the Lone Worker system and coordinating searches
- conducting health and safety working hours risk assessments
- effectively managing fluctuating and at times extremely heavy operational workload and out-of-hours staffing levels
- representing the business participating in local resilience forums, which convene when there is a regional or national incident
- maintaining and updating Control Room information systems and records
- procuring and coordinating resources or facilitating requests to assist in operational emergencies
- escalating critical system issues to IT and management, and initiating and managing robust and intensive backup processes during any planned and unplanned outages
- assisting in alarm monitoring and management, and the coordination of responses to mass failures, such as power and telemetry
- Assisting in managing other essential business functions when their department closes each night, ensuring an uninterrupted service to our customers.

Please note within this role you will be required to work a rotating shift pattern, covering 12-hour day and night shifts, Monday to Sunday, plus periodic 24-hour standby, to ensure the control room is able to maintain sufficient staffing levels around the clock and in the event of emergency conditions. Annual leave is fixed within the shift pattern with regular rest periods, consisting of two weeks off every six weeks.

**What do I need?**

You will work effectively within a large team and a lone unit while being able to switch between the two, maintaining a presence of authority and the ability to direct and take control of a team.
