Reporting to the Experiences and Programming Manager, you'll be working with other team members to co-create and deliver a year-round programme of visitor experiences and participation. You'll also be managing the Active Outdoors Development Co-ordinator to support the outdoors offer including cycle hire at Ickworth estate.
The team welcomes over 280,000 visitors a year to this Treasure House and its rolling Suffolk landscape. We benefit from working flexibly across departments, delivering an exceptional visitor welcome and audience focused visitor programme throughout the year.
The team at this Georgian Italianate mansion are in the process of putting together a masterplan which will bring significant changes to the property. New conservation projects means that the team will be looking for committed people to join them. What you'll be doing:As the Senior Programming and Partnership Officer, you’ll be an ambassador for the Trust sharing our values and working as a team to link everything we do back to our cause. You'll co-create a year-round visitor programme with the rest of the property (Gardens, Rangers, House & Commercial teams), delivering engaging activities for different audiences, and through programming help to promote local conservation projects and our national strategy.
As part of the Visitor Experience team, you'll help us offer a diverse and engaging annual programme of activities, including our winter Light Nights, Easter egg hunts and other seasonal activities celebrating Ickworth, it’s story and offer. We're looking for someone creative and innovative to evolve our programme, to encourage repeat and new visits, as well as fitting in with our Spirit of Place. You will use programming to help visitors connect with our cause, as well as meeting the needs of our supporters.
Part of the role will also require you to support the Visitor Experience team operationally, being Visitor Experience Lead on certain days when needed, leading the welcome and service on the day and ensuring operations run smoothly for our visitors.
You will be working one in four weekends as Visitor Experience Lead, and some public holidays, especially when needed for programme delivery.
Who we're looking forTo deliver this role successfully, you'll need:
- Excellent stakeholder management, working with a range of internal and external partners to create the visitor programme
- An understanding of audience insight and how we can use this to better develop our visitor programme
- To be a creative thinker who can create, deliver, and evaluate several programmed, seasonal activities across the year
- Experience of handling a delegate budget, tracking income and expenditure and reacting to in year performance
- An understanding of the role of the Trust, as a national conservation charity and how visitor experience and programming supports visits and grows audiences
