The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) brings together staff and services from the former Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. The sheer size, scale and potential of our combined service is huge. Together, we’ve a wealth of skills and resources to share and tap into and, a wide range of career paths for you to develop and explore. If you want to join a team of around 20,000 NHS experts in delivering high-quality, local care across Salford, Oldham, Bury and Rochdale and beyond
- **come and take your place with us.**

**Job overview**:
The HMR Single Point of Access service is a friendly, forward thinking and inviting team. The purpose of the Single Point of Access is to receive and process referrals for the community services of Podiatry and Adult Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, making onward bookings into assessment and treatment clinics held within the HMR community. The department also manages the processing of a significant number of hospital referrals from GP practices including the appointing of referrals for suspected cancer which must be appointed to a hospital clinic within a very tight timeframe.

It is an extremely busy service and you must be able to work well in an open plan call centre environment as much of the work is desk based utilising telephony and patient appointment booking systems and databases.

There is some opportunity for hybrid working on a rota basis between home and the office.

**Main duties of the job**:
The post holder will be responsible for the receipt and processing of patient referrals and appointment bookings for Community Podiatry, Adult Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and the Referral Management Booking Service which primarily processes referrals for hospital services including referrals for suspected cancer.

You will be allocated a key speciality work area e.g. MSK Physiotherapy with the expectation that this may change if required to maintain service administration in the other areas.

The post-holder may also be required to undertake general office duties, monitor and request stationary/clinical supplies, support with data entry into staff attendance systems and arrange patient transport/interpretation services.

The post-holder will also be required to undertake delegated clinical administration tasks e.g. obtaining diagnostic investigation results, uploading clinical information into the patients electronic record, processing of onward referrals/diagnostic investigation requests and supporting queries to other departments.

There will also be a requirement on a rota basis to cover the MSK Physiotherapy department reception area at Nye Bevan House, receiving patients attending for treatment.

**Working for our organisation**:
The Northern Care Alliance (NCA) is one of the largest NHS organisations in the country. Launched in April 2017, the NCA serves over one million people across Greater Manchester and employs over 19,000 healthcare professionals across Bury, Rochdale, Salford and Oldham. The sheer size, scale and potential of our combined service is huge. At the NCA, we can offer groupwide, flexible multi-site opportunities, as part of our connected, integrated and engaged team.
