**Job Introduction**:
**Please Note: A Full UK Driving License and Access to a Vehicle is an Essential Requirement.**
At Turning Point, we support people across England with substance use problems. As a Assertive Outreach Worker, you’ll make a real difference to their lives as you provide support and advice to help each and every one of our service users achieve their potential. Passionate about people, you’ll enjoy the scope and support to enhance your own life too, as you make this role your own as part of a hard-working and friendly team.
Running health facilities and services on a not-for-profit basis, we invest every penny back into our care - and our people. So, if you’re ambitious and focused on helping people with substance use recover and make real sustained changes, we would like to hear from you.
As an Assertive Outreach Worker we offer a starting salary of £22,284 with annual pay progression to £24,567 (Dependent on experience you may be offered a starting salary above the initial starting salary).
You will have opportunities to progress your career with a structured learning journey and clearly defined career pathways that will enable you to achieve your long-term goals and work to your strengths.
Whether you are looking to progress into a management and leadership role or to be a specialist in your field as an Advanced Substance Use Practitioner at Turning point we will support and encourage you on your career journey.
**Role Responsibility**:
An exciting opportunity to join the ROAR Partnership team has become available. This team is focused on delivering a high standard of outreach support. We would like to recruit someone who is committed and dedicated to working with people who are affected by substance use. This post is based across Rochdale, therefore mobility is essential to the post holder; you will be required to work across both locality hubs and community sites.
You’ll need a good working knowledge of issues related to substance Use, as well as a genuine passion for the field. Although previous relevant experience, on either a voluntary basis or as a paid employee is preferable, most important is that you’re flexible, patient and able to view situations from a service user’s perspective. As you’d expect, good moral values will be key. Situations can sometimes be difficult and challenging, so you’ll need to be non-judgemental, with a sensitive approach and a good understanding of how to meet complex needs related to substance use.
Previous experience of facilitating group based interventions as well as working with clients on a one to one basis would be an advantage.
At a practical level you will need good IT skills and excellent communication skills. It would be preferable if the post holder has had previous experience in delivering outreach support.
