We have an exciting opportunity to join a large Commodity Trading company on a permanent basis.

Key resposibilities include:

- Verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling accounts payable and receivables;
- reporting on aging debt and doubtful transactions
- Reviewing the recognition of revenue
- verifying prime cost of trading business
- office expenses and completion of the accounting treatment in SAP system
- Verifying paper supporting documents for bank settlements and posting accounting journals

Work closely with Operations team to track trading transactions captured in the ENTRADE system, raising SAP journals after verification
Ensuring transactions and accounting treatment are in compliance with Company policies and accounting principles
Verifying and reporting on related-party transactions/balances and liaise with sister companies and HQ finance team for correct breakdown details and inter-company balances
Reconciliation of the hedging position booked in SAP against statement issued by the clearing bank prior to the month-end
Carrying out month-end and year-end financial statement closure process in a timely manner
Completion of monthly JIUQI reporting set (Chinese reporting pack) in timely manner
Reporting the financial results on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
Reconciling bank accounts
The preparation and collation of documents for internal reviews, group audit and statutory audit, and prepare statutory financial statements
Leading the tax audit; assist in the preparation of file tax returns and be responsible for corporation tax instalment computation and payment
The reconciliation of VAT invoices with SAP data and preparation of the VAT return filing on a quarterly basis
Supporting the preparation of the Company’s annual budget, providing variance analysis
The production of costings statements and analysis
Completion of UK national statistics and assist with other tax and regulatory compliance if required
Maintaining digital/physical financial and accounting records
The preparation of payment instructions and draft remittance forms if required

Ideally our client is looking for applicants who have worked within the commodity industry who has a minimum of 3 years accountancy experience.
