An exciting opportunity for the post of Quality Matron has arisen to work as part of the Quality Team which forms part of Corporate Nursing.

Reporting directly to the Assistant Chief Nurse, you will play a key role in leading and facilitating the Trust's ward/department accreditation programme (StARS) and be responsible for the oversight and delivery of a number of quality and patient safety initiatives.

The position will require an exemplar role model who demonstrates professional, visible, inclusive leadership and engagement qualities and the ability to communicate effectively with all staff groups, patients and service users.

The Quality Matron is an integral part of the Corporate Nursing Team. The Quality Matron will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, specialist knowledge and support for Nursing and Allied Health Professionals to promote the Quality Agenda in the Trust.

To actively lead Trust wide on components of the Trust’s Nursing and Midwifery strategy implementation.

To promote the development of staff through planning, delivering and evaluating ad hoc programmes of ward based training and supporting regular classroom based training.

To be a lead on the Trust Ward/ Department Accreditation programme to improve the quality of patient care whilst focusing on Patient Experience, Outcomes and Safe

To be a highly visible, proactive and accessible Quality Matron, acting as an expert nursing and quality resource; ensuring the sustained delivery of high standards of nursing care to patients from a fit for purpose nursing and midwifery workfor

Support the Implementation of the ward quality accreditation programme and providing support and facilitation to clinical areas to progress to achieve the Blue StAR standard.

To lead on Trust nursing initiatives, programmes of improvement and transformation to improve patient safety and outcomes.

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £41.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary

In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
