**SEND Support Assistant: PMLD**

Protocol Education Newcastle is looking for a support assistant to work in our SEND schools for pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a special education setting, supporting pupils with PMLD and it may be of interest to those with experience in social care, those aspiring to train as a teacher, educational psychologist, or TA who needs to gain experience working in a school.

If you are passionate about special education and would value the opportunity to work within a group of highly trained SEND practitioners, then we want to hear from you.

We need someone who:

- Is resilient and can remain calm in difficult situations.
- Has excellent spoken and written communication skills.
- Can engage positively with the children they are supporting in order to help them achieve their potential.
- Wants to contribute to the school curriculum through involvement in extra activities such as music, art, sport etc.
- Has the right to work in the UK.
- Can work Monday to Friday during school hours.

The Role:

- Supporting pupils around the school and in class.
- Reporting to relevant staff any incidents, problems and successes.
- Assisting with personal care where necessary.
- Working under the direction of the class teacher.
- Helping to deliver intervention plans.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
