**OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE**

Contact is currently seeking a Cultural Engagement Coordinator to join the Cultural Engagement team. The role will focus on supporting all aspects of our participatory work within Contact, with specific focus on theatre, music and education. This is an exciting new role which will provide pastoral care and support to our participants at Contact, whilst engaging them in purposeful workshops in cultural education.

The role will support the smooth-running of projects focused on young people and the community, providing administrative assistance on our engagement and community development work, supporting events and projects related to our youth participation activities and supporting conversations with schools, partners and community groups to increase participation.

We are looking for a creative, organised and highly personable individual, who is confident in working collaboratively with participants, communities, partner organisations and schools. You will have a strong understanding of the needs and interest of young people, local communities and creating accessible and exciting arts engagement opportunities.

**MAIN TASKS**
- Work with the Engagement Manager to foster strong relationships with schools and colleges.
- Support the delivery of our project work and occasional work in schools and education settings
- Support the delivery of projects and events that form part of a high-quality Education offer
- Engage in outreach activities to recruit a diverse range of young participants to our projects from across Greater Manchester.
- Support on the successful delivery of in-house projects focused on youth leadership, music and drama.
- Manage the administration for the Young Programming Team (Re:Con), including recruitment and selection of participants and pastoral support.
- Support the Young Programming Team (Re:Con Programming) to see work both internally and externally
- Support our evaluation activities of our various youth projects and activities, using our model of youth consultation to continually drive improvement and innovation of our work.
- Provide pastoral support and care for our young participants at Contact, supporting safe engagement in our activities and making referrals to external partners where required.
- Support our Engagement Team in delivering a strong and relevant community offer.
- Work with the Programme Producer to produce letters of agreement and event contracts and other related administrative tasks such as work permits.
- Ensure that Artifax, our venue management system, reflects the programming schedule and is updated with contractual and other related documentation
- Leading on the collection of statistical data relating to the programme that is required for quarterly and annual reporting to our core funders.
- Support on the accessibility of the Artistic Programme arranging BSL interpretation, captioning, relaxed performances etc.

GENERAL
- Undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required in connection with the position.
- Keep up to date with developments within the arts and youth culture.
- Represent Contact at external events as required.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with all Contact’s partner organisations.
- Get involved with creative work being presented by Contact by attending workshops, read-throughs, rehearsals and performances on a regular basis.
- Follow Contact’s Health & Safety policy, undertaking duties as required and ensure reasonable care is taken to maintain a healthy and safe place for public and staff.

- Advise and report regularly on activity as required by the wider Senior Management Team, Board and sub-boards, supplying any data required to meet funder reporting requirements.
- Provide mentoring and support to young people and on occasions deliver training/workshops in areas relevant to your job role.
- In line with Contact’s governance model, pro-actively engage young people in decision-making through consultations, young people’s panels and other mechanisms relevant to your job role.
- Manage all personal data in line with the General Data Protection Regulations, using the Spektrix database as directed.

**ESSENTIAL**
- Experience working in arts participation and creative arts projects
- Experience of working with young people aged 13-30.
- Experience of collating data, including qualitative and quantitative and presenting in a concise manner
- Confidence in reaching out to new partners and nurturing mutually beneficial partnerships
