We are looking for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join our Head Office Finance Team in Crawley, to work closely with and support the Finance Manager (Control and Compliance) and UK Financial Controller in delivering the objectives of the Central Financeunit.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop and obtain exposure to a large-sized, multi-service organisation.
Your focus will be to deliver service excellence to all stakeholders and ensure that timelines and key performance indicators, or SLA's, are always adhered to.
You will also assist in other duties supporting the team and wider business as required by senior finance management.
**Responsibilities will include**:

- Supporting the Finance Manager in the delivery of the central finance team's objectives, by becoming an integral member of the team
- Providing UK monthly reporting to OCS Group Ltd (parent company)
- Business Partner with Payroll & Shared Services to resolve queries in a timely manner
- Preparing & posting monthly Payroll Provisions, providing explanations behind calculations to the Commercial Finance Directors along with the quarterly Divisional Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Intercompany quarterly reconciliations between UK & OCS Group subsidiaries
- Lead staff expenses team
- Assisting the Finance Manager and Internal Audit Team in preparation of audit files & liaising with external auditors
- Preparing regulatory compliance returns, including monthly Quarterly VAT
- Perform monthly and quarterly Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Management of JV transactions, month end and statutory reporting
- Assist and support cash team
- Mentoring Finance Assistants
- The ability to identify and escalate matters which require remedial action and mitigate risks to the company and acting in a manner to prevent fraudulent activities.
- Work towards continuous improvements in quality and efficiency of all work completed

**Qualifications and Experience required**:

- Final stage of AAT or early CIMA/ACCA (or equivalent) studier
- Strong double entry bookkeeping skills (essential)
- Good understanding of the principles of payroll
- Previous experience in balance sheet reconciliations
- Advanced Excel skills
- Previous experience of working with an ERP system preferably SAP
- Previous experience in a similar role, or significant experience as an Accounts / Finance assistant
