Surrey, United Kingdom Recovery Focus Full time

Employment Specialist

£24,534 - £25,707 (inclusive of £2,250 Location Allowance) per annum

Waverly, Surrey

Are you interested in helping people who have or are recovering from mental ill health to integrate back into employment? Are YOU ready to make a real difference to people’s lives? Would you like to be part of an organisation that counts on the professionalism, insight, expertise and passion of its staff to inspire individual recovery for the people they work with? Then join us as an Employment Specialist.

Right now, one of our partners, Richmond Fellowship, is looking for an Employment Specialist to join their progressive and expanding Surrey IPS Employment service. We help individuals with mental ill health to find meaningful paid employment. We also assist employers and employees to successfully resolve any work related concerns as part of our job retention pathway.

Working in collaboration with mental health teams (CMHRS) to be located in Waverly, you will identify client aspirations through building positive relationships with local organisations / employers by providing person-centred advice and guidance to clients to enable them to move into suitable and sustainable work.

Your challenge? To do everything you can to help and motivate, inspire, and support the individuals we work with to source meaningful employment with local organisations/employers. Day to day, you’ll offer support, careers advice and guidance, helping people to set their own recovery and employment focused goals and provide training in personal and skills development such as CV preparation, interview techniques etc. You’ll also be responsible for establishing and maintaining positive links with community mental health teams (CMHRS), partner organisations, local employers and other relevant agencies promoting the service model and highlighting the importance of employment AS a recovery tool.

Additionally, you will have responsibility for maintaining efficient admin systems to ensure referrals, assessments and reviews are completed in a timely manner. You will assist and support clients with mental ill health in sourcing appropriate competitive and meaningful paid employment opportunities in line with their

recovery journey.

Did you know that Meaningful employment is the top recovery factor for people experiencing mental ill health? Discovering, building, and nurturing purpose and hope in a person’s life is what creates a springboard for someone to succeed and enjoy positive mental health and wellbeing again.

It is only possible with the help of people like you

You will ideally need to have a good understanding of the IPS model and working with mental health problems and the issues and barriers this can create for our clients. Key to this is the need for excellent motivational, presentation and listening skills and a willingness to travel in the local area and occasionally work outside of typical office hours as required.

The primary office for this role is based in Leatherhead, Surrey, however the delivery is Surrey and borders wide. The post-holder will therefore be a car driver or have the ability to travel independently across the area.

This is a permanent full-time role requiring the post holder to work 37.5 hours per week.
