**Purpose of the post**:

- Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.
- Assist the Maritime Service Manager to undertake daily duties and functions in line with the managerial requirements of the Maritime Service, ensuring a significant improvement in the quality and management of the coastline.

**Responsibility for functions**:

- Delegated responsibility for all staff, finance and resources of the Maritime Service as required.
- Managing the service in conjunction with the Senior Harbour Officer in the absence of the Maritime Service Manager.
- Managerial responsibility for the service’s permanent Beach Officers.
- Appoint, train and manage all of the service’s seasonal staff together with purchasing and distributing all equipment and uniform.
- Co-ordinating and ensuring that all coastal safety equipment and apparatus are checked and that the relevant inspection forms are completed as required.
- Responsibility for the beach’s ‘float’ and the safe transfer of registration and launch fees to the Maritime Office, Post Office or Bank.
