Clinical Governance/patient Safety Facilitator

The post holder will support the clinical governance, quality and safety agenda across the Family and Clinical Support Service Division working closely as a team. The post holder will assist the Divisional Clinical Governance Manager and Clinical Governance Leads in the Business Units (BU’s) with the establishment and implementation of systems and processes to support effective clinical governance arrangements, most specifically to include risk management, incident report management and investigation, data collection and reporting, complaints management, clinical effectiveness and setting and audit of standards as relevant to the role. The Clinical Governance/Patient Safety Facilitator is part of the Divisional leadership team and will support the divisional clinical teams to ensure that Clinical Governance and Patient Safety arrangements are embedded into the Business Units.
Deputise for the CGM when required.
Work effectively and flexibly with colleagues under the direction of the CGM to ensure high standards of Governance are maintained.
Work effectively to manage the incidents/risk/complaints platform on Datix on a daily basis.
With support from the CGM, co-ordinate the engagement of clinical teams within the Division to ensure quality assurance processes are embedded and robust, that responses to clinical incidents, serious incidents, risks, complaints and litigation are appropriately managed and that requirements of External standards are met.
To ensure the systems are in place to effectively manage Clinical effectiveness across the division, to ensure clear oversight is achieved and developments are made in relation to learning from Audits, NICE, NCEPOD, PROMS.
To manage the Risk register for the division and work alongside the BU’s to report and escalate appropriately
Support the investigation and complaint processes under the direction of the Clinical Governance Manager and advise/follow up on outstanding actions.
The Divisional Governance team is a small group of dedicated staff who are passionate about making a difference for our patients and staff. What makes working with the F&CSS division is that we are so lucky to have a such variety in our work. We can be discussing with a number of professionals just over the cause of a day - a consultant obstetrician, a pharmacist, a pathologist, medical records administrator, medical photographer, therapist or radiographer, to name but a few.
