**What is the role we are looking for?**

We are looking to recruit a People Business Partner to cover London, the South and South West.

Working closely with the three Regional Managers and their teams, as well as the wider People Team, you will provide Human Resources advice and support to the Regions on a range of topics including occupational health and employee relations. You will provide a commercial view on people issues, but always maintain a people centred approach that is empathetic to the colleagues involved in any HR processes.

You should be willing to respond to any People matters as they arise, but also work proactively with the Regional Managers and Regional Operations Managers to consider the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, be that new branch openings, identifying opportunities for development or addressing performance issues.

You will work closely with all members of the department to support any new initiatives in your Regions. You are likely to be based in Hampshire, Surrey or the surrounding area, to allow easy access to all the 80+ branches and over 380 colleagues in your Regions. The ability to travel to London is essential for this role as the role covers our London branches. The area also encompasses St Austell and Cardiff in the South West over to Guildford and Worthing in the South. As such the ability to drive is essential and a company car will be provided. The role will be a mixture of home-working and meeting with colleagues in branches. You will also be required to attend other locations, such as Head Office in Eastbourne, on occasion.

Working with two other People Business Partners, who are responsible for other Regions within the business, you have a critical role. You will be able to communicate effectively at all levels. You will use your HR and employment law knowledge, commercial acumen, and empathy towards colleagues to quickly establish your knowledge and credibility in this role. You will be confident in influencing and advising.

**The responsibilities of this role will include**:

- Understanding and advising on People issues to support the development and growth in the Regions
- Working with the Regional Manager and the L& D Team to identify “rising stars” and support their growth and progression or for colleagues not performing their role effectively to consider how to support their development
- Supporting Managers on cases (grievance, disciplinary, capability, health, restructure etc.) and assisting with meetings when required including drafting documentation/correspondence
- Supporting the Regions and Recruitment team with shortlisting and interviewing.
- Providing a commercial view on issues, but always maintaining a people centred approach that is empathetic to the colleagues who are within any People process
- Working with the People Manager and People Director on projects, including seeking to develop, map and improve processes to create efficient and user-friendly approaches
- Designing and delivering short, focused HR training sessions at the Regional Meetings to upskill Branch Managers
- Coaching new Managers on Management and HR related skills, through conversations and support, as well as practical demonstration, for example interviewing alongside a new Manager
