Grays Transport have a vacancy for a Purchasing Assistant based at our head office in Ripley, Derbyshire on a permanent basis. This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. Traditional working hours are 9am until 5pm but this can be flexible dependent on circumstances. The role would suit a purchasing or accounts assistant with strong IT skills.

The purchasing assistant is responsible for running the purchase order log, contacting suppliers and processing supplier invoices in a timely manner.

**Salary**: Negotiable dependent on experience.

**Duties will include**:

- Raising and sending customer invoices.
- Answering customer queries.
- Running the purchase order log.
- Contacting suppliers for quotes, statements and queries.
- Processing expenses and credit cards.
- Set up new supplier accounts and maintain existing account details.
- Responsible for processing all supplier invoices accurately, ensuring payment terms are recorded and invoices are correct.
- Assigning credit notes on the QuickBooks accounting system.
- Providing support where needed to other areas of the accounts department.

**Skills and experience required for the role**:

- Experience working in a purchasing/purchase ledger/accounts assistant type role is preferred.
- QuickBooks knowledge is desirable but not essential as training will be given.
- Experience processing invoices.
- Experience with purchase orders.
- Excellent data entry skills.
- Competent user of all Microsoft Office programs.
- A good level of general computer literacy.
- Good communication & numeracy skills.
