**Role**: Accounts Assistant

**Reports to**: Financial Controller

**Salary**: £28- £32k, 34 days annual leave, leading pension scheme

**Location**: 5 days per week, site based

**Contract Type**: 37.5 hours permanent

**Working Pattern**: 08.30-17.00 Monday to Thursday, 08.30- 14.30 Friday

**About the Role**

**Accounts Payable**
- Matching invoices to delivery notes
- Processing and coding purchase invoices
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving queries
- Processing employee expenses
- Scanning and filing purchase invoices and credit notes into the ERP system
- Identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions

**Accounts Receivable**
- Setting up new customers - credit limit checks and liaising with credit insurers
- Monitoring and managing customer accounts
- First point of contact for customer invoice queries
- Sending customer statements
- Collating weekly reports for KPI reporting
- Performing monthly debtor account reconciliations

**Payroll & Cash Management**
- Processing Weekly payroll
- Posting customer receipts as well as bank payments
- Managing the invoice discounting facility
- Processing supplier payment runs
- Performing bank reconciliation

**Inventory Management**
- Processing engineering parts consumption journal
- Performing quarterly and yearly spare parts stock count
- Setting up new item codes for spare parts

In addition to the above, you will be expected to assist with other finance-related tasks, such as month-end, audit, and office duties.

**Skills and Experience**
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts/finance
- AAT/Bookkeeping Qualification would be preferred
- Accurate and excellent attention to detail
- IT proficient, specifically MS Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Punctual and able to manage time and workload efficiently
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
