The GLA is the strategic lead for major sporting events in the city and the first point of contact for anyone looking to bring their event to London. The GLA’s Major Sports Events Team is responsible for managing the GLA’s stake in major sports events in London, helping to unlock support from a variety of city stakeholders to ensure that rights owners can deliver their events in London to world class standards. The team builds and manages relationships with events owners, national governing bodies of sport, international sports federations, venue owners and key government agencies.

Following the excitement of the Men’s European Football Championship in 2021 and the Women’s European Football Championship last summer, London will play host to the UEFA Champions League Final on 1 June 2024. The match will take place at Wembley Stadium and the GLA is responsible for delivering several aspects of the project in line with its Host City obligations to UEFA.

The GLA is seeking to recruit into a fixed term post to join the Champions League Final team to deliver London’s host city obligations to UEFA and The FA. The postholder will provide effective and comprehensive administrative and project support to the GLA’s UEFA Champions League Final Core Team across a range of areas including: city activations, stakeholder management, promotion, community engagement and fan meeting points.

**Principal Accountabilities**:

- Work closely with the Senior Manager, Champions League Final and core project team to support and contribute to the delivery of the GLA’s obligations to UEFA and The FA.
- Participate in a range of work-streams and projects relating to the event and take responsibility for some specific workstreams.
- Undertake research, fact-finding and analysis activities in support of the team’s work and support the development of relevant performance indicators and management information systems.
- Support the Champions League Final Team where required including with administration, events and meetings, stakeholder visits, and wider team cohesion and organisation.
- Track, monitor and manage project actions against targets, take ownership and management of project issues; undertake follow-up or remedial actions when required.
- Arrange meetings, including: finding suitable dates, booking rooms, ordering catering and equipment, producing and circulating meeting documentation such as agendas, minutes and presentations, and following up on any actions agreed as required.

**Technical Requirements/ Experience/ Qualifications**:

- Demonstrable experience of supporting project delivery.
- Strong communication skills and experience of working to demanding deadlines and working with a range of stakeholders.
- Experience of using Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and experience of managing multiple priorities within a busy environment.
