Margate, United Kingdom Save the Children Full time

Save the Children UK has an exciting opportunity for an engaging and solutions focused individual with extensive relationship building experience to join us as our **Partnership Lead **where you will work with the Margate Early Learning Community and other stakeholders.

**About Us**

Save the Children UK believes every child deserves a future. In the UK and around the world, we work every day to give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. When crisis strikes, and children are most vulnerable, we are always among the first to respond and the last to leave. We ensure children's unique needs are met and their voices are heard. We deliver lasting results for millions of children, including those hardest to reach.

The Margate Early Learning Community (ELC) is part of the Early Learning Communities programme, which began in 2018 in partnership between Save the Children and local partners across the UK. The programme aims to make a sustainable difference to the lives of children growing up in poverty in communities across the UK, by taking a whole-system and evidence-based approach to improving early learning outcomes. In taking a whole-system approach, the Early Learning Communities programme recognises that, while important, individual programmes alone will only ever be part of the solution to narrow the attainment gap between children in poverty and their more affluent peers. In order to make a sustainable difference to the outcomes of children growing up in poverty, we need to transform how whole early learning systems support those children - recognising that there are many different people, organisations and services that play a key role. By bringing together and supporting schools, statutory bodies, local charities, families and children in communities, and looking at the root causes of issues affecting outcomes in these communities, the programme seeks to enable communities to make a sustainable difference to the lives of children growing up in poverty.

**About the role**

As a Partnership Lead role, you will be responsible for managing and supporting several key Margate ELC initiatives (including our Early Years Grants programme), working closely with our local partners and internal colleagues to coordinate project delivery. You will also get to lead on the development and delivery of the Margate Early Years Network, including engaging with prospective network members, planning and chairing meetings and compiling relevant resources from across local services and organisations.

This role would be well suited to someone who is experienced in developing and delivering community projects alongside early years professionals and families. There will be plenty of opportunity to develop relevant skills on the job, drawing on the experience of colleagues from Save the Children and our partners in Margate.

**In this role, you will**:

- To support the development of partnership / local area strategies, based on the needs and opportunities in partnerships / local areas and the national change strategy
- To build and maintain strategic and operational relationships with delivery partners and collaborators and engage them in all our work
- To provide coordination and management to local partnerships, including working from and as part of the local partnership.
- To carry out data, research and evaluation tasks to support the generation of the evidence and learning required to fulfil the national change strategy, including responsibility for the high quality implementation of agreed monitoring and evaluation activity
- To build strong relationships with children and families, engaging them in the development and delivery of local partnerships as well as identifying opportunities to contribute to national campaigns and policy development, ensuring that our work promotes and reflects their voices and experiences

**About you**

**To be successful, it is important that you have**:

- Knowledge of the early years and children's sector and experience of working within it
- Understanding of early child development and broad knowledge of the evidence about effective approaches
- Experience of building and sustaining relationships and partnerships with individuals and organisations for strategic and operational objectives
