**IRC UK**
IRC UK is part of the IRC global network, which has its global headquarters in New York. Our team in the UK works to raise profile, deliver policy and practice change, and increase funding to help restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster. Since 2021, IRC UK has also provided integration services directly to refugees in England, a programme that is rapidly growing.
In Europe, the IRC also has offices in Berlin, Bonn, Brussels, Geneva and Stockholm.
**Job Overview**:
The Producer is a champion for strategic storytelling and supports the development and delivery of compelling stories about the IRC’s response to emergencies and crises, specifically our Africa and MENA programs, and the people that are impacted that will help support revenue, advocacy, and brand efforts.
The role calls for a highly creative and resourceful storyteller and content creator who knows how to translate complex topics into easy-to-understand content. Able to identify a compelling story angle and conceptualize a breakthrough idea that meets campaign and content goals. S/he is talented in producing content deliverables of various lengths that engage audiences IRC’s distribution channels and optimizing content for mobile and social. As a strong producer and communicator, they are responsible for driving the creative success of a content trip by interpreting needs of stakeholders and ensuring agreed-upon goals of the trip have been met throughout the process.
**Major Responsibilities**:
**Content & Creative Strategy and Planning**
- Uncover story angles of key crises and issues in collaboration with communications staff and senior creative leads. Be a passionate advocate for unique story angles and strong creative ideas that will resonate with target audiences online.
- Work with technical advisors on the identification and briefing with photographers and videographers, in close partnership with communications leads for programs and video
- Support the Associate Director, Content to maintain our forward-looking calendar of content-gathering trips and ensure our gathering efforts are directly tied to strategic external relations priorities.
- Act as lead producer for assigned content trips; working with Content and Creative team, Public Affairs, local Comms staff, and global content collaborators. Develop detailed Terms of Reference (TORs) with concepts, shot lists, interview questions, detailed itineraries, etc. for trips that take into account the needs of different departments and teams and ensure final deliverables meet requirements.
- Leads communication with vendors, project team, and regional communications team
- Draft budgets and input expenses
- Support content strategy for priority campaigns
**Content Development**
- Develop and implement strategic and compelling cross-channel multi-media content in support of IRC fundraising, advocacy and public engagement - while ensuring that IRC’s content production aligns with our core value of Equality and DEI goals.
- Collaborate with channel owners (e.g. social media, websites, newsletters), design and video specialists to ensure content is on-message, on-brand and aligned to goals.
- Prioritize content for processing, ensure all photos and broll packs are uploaded to Brandfolder
- Create and present collections after the trip has wrapped
- Propose/consult on work orders
**Technical Support**
- Collaborate on the onboarding process for freelancers and provide the remote and on-ground support for freelancers and providing guidance and support to country staff. Establish, manage and maintain the onboarding process and problem-solve shoots with limitations and tight deadlines
**Qualifications**:
- BA in journalism, communications, filmmaking, or relevant field.
