This is an exciting brand-new role being piloted by Health Education England and NHS England & Improvement to support the transformation of children and young people's inpatient and intensive community mental health services. This is a fully salaried position, your training will also be fully funded by the NHS, and you will be eligible for a full-time qualified position at band 5 (AFC) on successful completion of the course with a pass in all elements.

To allow the post holder, under clinical supervision and with the support of key members of the multidisciplinary (MDT) team within inpatient (The Cove, based at Heysham, Lancashire) and community intensive support teams to support children & young people aged 13-17 years old, developing knowledge and practice skills in:

- Delivering specific evidence-based psychological intervention for children and young people within inpatient and community settings with severe and/or complex mental health problems
- Supporting and facilitating staff in inpatient and community settings to identify and where appropriate manage issues related to mental health and wellbeing and to evidence development of those skills with associated knowledge acquisition to record and evidence progression towards an academic award and demonstrable practical ability
- Following the successful completion of training to automatically progress to a contract as a Youth Intensive Psychological Practitioner at Band 5
