Job summary

Health and Justice Services part of GMMH Specialist Service Care Group are looking to recruit a committed and dynamic HCPC psychologist to work within the multi-disciplinary mental health team at HMP Wymott, Leyland. The post holder will provide psychological leadership as part of the wider H&J Psychology and Psychological therapies provision.

In addition to detailed assessments, formulations and the post holder will oversee the psychological therapy provision provided across the stepped-care model of mental health delivery within HMP Wymott, including providing clinical supervision to other professionals working within the psychological delivery of care.

As a senior member of the MDT, the post holder would be expected to act within a consultative and supervisory capacity supporting others working across the H&J footprint. They will work closely with the Consultant clinical psychologist and other senior staff and will be responsible for contributing to the wider workforce development intended to support the psychological understanding and skill-base of staff working with service users.

The successful applicant will form part of a team that works closely with the senior prison managers to ensure a psychologically informed service is offered. The post holder will link with other professionals and agencies in the wider system to ensure integrated care provision to optimise the outcomes for service users.

Main duties of the job

To work with individual service users presenting to the Integrated Mental Health team (IMHT) to support improved psychological health and well-being.

To complete detailed and thorough psychological assessments, formulations and provide therapy and intervention.

To provide consultation and advice and work as part of the IMHT MDT.

To exercise responsibility for implementing a range of psychological interventions with service users and supporting and supervising others to do so, including reformulation, monitoring and follow up.

To supervise, the delivery of psychological interventions as part of multi-disciplinary care planning.

Qualifications

Essential

Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent

Additional post qualification training leadership qualification

Experience
