**Key Responsibilities**

**Principal Purpose of Post**

We are recruiting for new Artist Tutor(s) to teach Creative Drama to Adults and/or Children from September 2023 for the following;
- Public Speaking PE05 Public Speaking
- Acting and Performance DA103 Acting and Performance
- Creative Drama CH05 Creative Drama
- Making Theatre Beginners YP02 Making Theatre Beginners
- Making Theatre Improvers YP105 Making Theatre Improvers
- Well Crafty Art and Theatre CH23 Well Crafty Art and Theatre

**Overall Job Purpose**

To deliver tuition as part of MAC’s Learning & Participation programme, with additional responsibilities as follows
- Devising clear lesson plans and course structure to enable progression of learning, and the ability to adapt to each participants needs.
- Ensuring the course(s) are delivered as per the course descriptions given above
- Teaching Creative Drama, Public Speaking and Acting and Performance to the learning levels noted in the course descriptions.
- Preparation ahead of the course for equipment and technical requests liaising with the Learning Team.
- Continuous reflection and evaluation on the course, and quality of delivery.
- Work within MAC’s policies with specific attention to Safeguarding and Health & Safety.

**Person Specification**

**Essential**
- Previous experience in teaching Creative Drama to Adults and/or Children
- Be able to provide a stimulating learning experience that enables participants to achieve their creative potential.
- Educated/experienced to a suitable level in your art form.
- Proven ability to communicate well with a range of people using varied communication methods.
- A passion and commitment to the Arts.
- A commitment to further your skills and knowledge in participatory arts, including attending meetings, participating in training, and reflecting on your practice.
- A recent Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check or the ability to pass an Enhanced DBS check.
- An understanding of and commitment to MAC’s key objectives.

**Desirable**
- Experience of working with adults and children with additional needs and/or vulnerable adults.
- Knowledge of other creative art forms which may help us expand our Creative Drama offer at MAC.
