Joiner/carpenter

**R & B H Alderson Ltd is seeking a joiner to join our team in Durham, Durham.**

**Position Summary**:
**Qualifications**:

- Basic knowledge of woodworking tools and equipment including power tools, hand tools, chisels, saws, drills, etc.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand basic carpentry concepts
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather (summer)
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record (required)
- Willingness to follow all safety policies and procedures

**Responsibilities**:

- Install woodwork and other custom woodwork using proper techniques such as using chisels for hand sanding, using power tools such as power drill or sawzall for cutting long boards, etc.
- Repair or replace damaged wood paneling or trimming using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Install fireplaces or other large wood furniture.
- Install new wood furniture or replacement material such as vinyl flooring or countertops.

**Salary**: £14.00-£14.40 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Durham, Durham: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Joinery: 5 years (preferred)
- Carpentry: 5 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- CSCS (preferred)
- Driving Licence (required)
