As a Community Engagement Officer at Counter Context, you will be pivotal in building positive relationships with the community and key stakeholders for the Dewsbury Long Term Plan project. Your role will ensure effective communication between the community and Kirklees Council, enhancing our community profile and engagement.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Building and Maintaining Relationships**:

- Establish and nurture strong relationships with community members and stakeholders, including local government, community groups, and residents.
- Act as the primary point of contact for community inquiries and concerns, ensuring they are addressed promptly and effectively.

**Identifying Community Issues**:

- Monitor and identify community issues and concerns that may impact the project.

**Attend Community Events**:

- Participate in event logistics and attend community events, such as roadshows and focus groups, to promote the project's initiatives and gather community feedback.

**Facilitating Open Communication**:

- Serve as a conduit for open communication between the community and the organisation, ensuring transparency and trust.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Understanding of local government and community structures.
- A proactive approach to identifying and addressing community issues.
- Must be able to access a mobile phone and laptop.
- Experience in community engagement, public relations, or a related field is desirable, but not required.

**The offer**:
Duration of position: Eight weeks fixed term

Hours: A minimum of four hours a week

**Salary**: £12.00 per hour

Interviews: In-person interviews will take place on 4th and 5th June

**Job Types**: Temporary contract, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 8 weeks

Pay: £12.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 4 per week

Work Location: In person
