This is an exciting opportunity to join the UHNM MRI service as a technical expert being responsible for the delivery of practical MRI Training of radiographers and assistants at UHNM.

You will be actively responsible for maintaining safe, effective and quality delivery of the training programme to both experienced and junior staff. You will exhibit expert knowledge of scanner systems, working closely with the the medical physics team to maintain high quality of imaging. You will ensure the development of highly skilled competent practitioners for both our current and future workforce

The UHNM MRI service currently has 8 MRI scanners and approximately 60 staff working exclusively in MRI. We provide scanning to a population of 3million patients over a 7 day week from 7am to 8pm and include a very broad range of examinations and techniques.

As appropriate, the post holder will aid with clinical oversight and leadership of the department on a day to day basis. They will support the management of both systems and staff, including staff rostering, the development of policies and procedures, and investigation of complaints and incidents.

The post holder will take a lead role in the development of both radiographic and support staff, performing staff appraisals and reporting on-going and significant issues to the MRI Superintendent. They will provide positive mentorship to junior members of staff, working closely alongside trainee Radiographers to ensure timely progress through the training programme.

The post holder will maintain a significant clinical commitment, delivering a broad range of MRI examinations of high quality in accordance with professional and local standards and guidelines.
