Westminster, United Kingdom City of Westminster Council Full time

**About Us**:
**THE EXTRAORDINARY STORY OF TIFFENY’S POWERFUL VOICE**

At Westminster City Council, we don’t just listen to the voices and experiences of our residents - we listen to our people too. Tiffeny is a single mum whose young son has ADHD and before joining our team, she never thought she’d find a job that gave her flexibility and freedom to support her son’s needs. As a neurodivergent woman herself, she also never expected to be part of a team that not only supports her needs, but actively celebrates them - where people encourage her to be her true self. And that’s what she found here at the City of Westminster.

Working as an Engagement Officer means that she gets to meet people from all walks of life within the community supporting the development of positive change, especially being the voice for young people where it matters - in education, training, or employment. Her experiences and her amazing ability to relate to others means that within the first few months of joining our team, she’d already made a huge impact on things like accessibility in the Borough. Tiffeny feels heard and that’s because we know how important it is to listen.

**The Role**:
As a Project Coordinator within the Westminster Employment Service (WES), you can make your own powerful contribution by helping our local residents find their way into gainful employment - and in doing so, you will transform their life outcomes.

The WES is nothing short of exceptional. Over the last 5 years, our team have helped over 2,000 residents into jobs with local employers. With a focus on helping our local community overcome their barriers to work, they support them with the services and coaching they need to help them find employment that they want to maintain. With the current cost of living crisis, this work has never been more important, which makes this the perfect time to join our friendly and inclusive team.

As part of our Programme Management Team, you will be directly involved in this work, as you will help our front-line employment coaches and business teams be as productive as possible. Supporting the WES Programme Manager in delivering transformation initiatives, you will establish the relevant governance requirements for each project, and ensure the right documents and processes have been put in place. Seeing projects through from start to finish, you will devise project plans and monitor the progress of key tasks and actions - and if you identify something that could derail your projects, you will find solutions to manage these risks.

From planning and taking minutes at meetings through to updating presentations and keeping an eye on the budget, this is a hands-on role in which you will be directly involved in a wealth of interesting initiatives. You will also find that you are a focal point for many of these projects, acting as the go-to person for sharing knowledge and building bridges between both internal and external stakeholders - so this role will provide you with a great platform to show community leaders and key decision makers what you’re capable of

Please refer to the **Job Description** for more information

**About You**:
This is a great opportunity for a proactive and enthusiastic individual who is interested in developing their project management skills. To be equal to the challenge you will therefore have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and cloud technologies. Ideally coming from a project management background or with experience of working with projects, it would be helpful if you have previously worked with large-scale systems and processes, and you will understand the importance of meeting deadlines.

Equally important, you will enjoy working as part of a team, and you will have great problem-solving, research, numerical and analytical skills. Good written communication skills are important as you will be producing reports, and you’ll be a friendly individual with a willingness to learn.
Crucially, you will be a passionate advocate of nurturing an inclusive workplace and service. We want our employees to bring their whole selves to work, and to feel safe and secure in our fun and compassionate team.

**What We Offer**:
Westminster is an amazing place. We are home to more than 200,000 residents from all backgrounds, over 50,000 vibrant and vital businesses and three-quarters-of-a-million people work in Westminster. Westminster City Council’s strategy is to work towards a Fairer Westminster. A Fairer Westminster is one in which our communities are at the heart of our decision-making and help to determine the city’s future. By working directly with our communities and other partners, we can build a more inclusive city that celebrates our diverse communities, and where residents, workers and visitors from all backgrounds will feel welcome and safe.

As a forward-thinking Council we appreciate that people work in different ways, therefore our staff benefit from working a rang
