Portable Applications Tester and Facilities Support

**_Role_**
Forbes Solicitors are looking for a Portable Applications Tester to join the Facilities Team at our Blackburn Office, with further travel to our other office locations across Lancashire, Manchester and Leeds. This is a full-time role, working 36.25 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 9am to 5pm.

The purpose of this role will be to successfully plan, organise and deliver testing of all Forbes Solicitors electrical equipment and ensuring they comply with health and safety requirements.

The role will be responsible for delivering successful outcomes such as:

- Completion of PAT testing across the Firm in both offices and home-working environments, with the completion of required documentation in a timely and accurate manner to ensure the Firm is compliant with health and safety requirements and maintenance of its buildings, working environments and assets.
- Accurately record test data by using industry-standard test equipment on the asset register and attach appropriate labelling to tested equipment.
- Identifying and reporting repairs or quarantining equipment that fails the test process.
- Work with the wider Facilities team, Office Managers and Branch Managing Partners to organise schedules for testing.
- Undertaking inspection, basic maintenance, and refurbishment work across the Firm’s offices and working environments, both as a result of planned maintenance and reactive repairs.
- Travel to all Forbes offices as required across the North-West, to undertake and complete required facilities and health and safety related work.
- Pro-actively assist with the logístical and practical work of facilities projects such as office moves and workspace improvement etc.
- Advise colleagues on requests for office layout and equipment changes, rearrangements, or improvements.
- Contribute to the Firm’s successful compliance with its Health & Safety
- Assist Facilities Team colleagues with Stores related activities such as collection of confidential waste, file archiving, file destroying, moving of files to storage facilities.
- Willingness to undertake such other duties commensurate with your position and hours as may reasonably be expected.

- Ideally have experience in PAT testing but not essential, full training will be provided;
- Have a prior understanding of the importance of H&S at work;
- A basic understanding of the hazards associated with working with electricity;
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with our people and contractors from all levels of the business in a professional manner;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Ability to use own initiative;
- Highly organised and the ability to multitask, with good attention to detail;
- Excellent knowledge of IT systems, Microsoft Office, word, excel;
