**What does our economics and policy consultant team do?**

RSM’s Economics Consulting team works predominantly with public sector clients to provide evidence for effective government policy making and public investment decisions. We complete research, evaluation and analysis that has an impact on the economy and society. Through the recommendations we make, we help improve the effectiveness of policy and practice.
Our team of economists, analysts, policy evaluators, and researchers work across all areas of public policy. Our recent projects include:
modelling and analysis of pilot NHS programmes to improve patient care and achieve cost savings for the NHS; cluster analysis in the digital and cyber-security industry; development of investment appraisals and business cases for large-scale national capital investment programmes social and economic impact studies for the Home Office and other large government departments; and policy analysis (including cost benefit analysis) of Covid-related intervention schemes.

**Our Consultants are responsible for**:
Maintaining RSM's high level of service and values, taking responsibility for ensuring timely delivery of quality research outputs to clients.

Working on consultancy projects, with responsibility for tasks such as data and econometric analysis (Stata, R, Python), modelling, desk research and survey management/ analysis.

Contributing to reports and deliverables, drafting reports and visualising data using software (eg. PowerBI, R/Shiny, Tableau, Alteryx, Q-GIS) on which they will be trained.

Your own career development plan, setting out personal objectives, marketing your skills and expertise internally to proposal managers and externally to clients, and achieving individual performance targets (utilisation and business development).

Assisting with proposal responses including supporting methodology development in a timely and robust manner.

Developing client relationships and achieving positive client testimonials for the delivery of high quality work.

Our graduate programme allows you to experience working in the Consultancy team alongside current trainees and experienced members of the firm. You’ll benefit from on-the-job training and ongoing support from colleagues and senior staff, gaining access to our internal training courses that will help you develop in the role. This hands-on early experience is invaluable as you take the next steps in your career. You will also have a buddy (with one to two years’ experience) to help you through your first days and weeks in the firm, and access to experienced mentors and your line manager to support your development.
RSM’s graduate programme in economics and policy consulting presents exciting career opportunities for to join a team focused on delivering real value to clients.
