WHAT TO EXPECT
Working with and co-ordinating a multi-functional team including Programme, Vehicle Engineering, Purchasing and Logistics you will ensure a flawless approach to planning Prototype builds resulting in seeing the very newest JLR products roll of the prototype line. Ensuring that we maintain each project on the required timings to deliver a clean and successful build start, while engaging and raising issues where appropriate and contributing to the team’s learning by continuous process improvement.
Prototype Build Preparation and Planning combine the key elements of prototype planning project management and programme preparation across Prototype Builds. We create, in conjunction with Programme and Vehicle Teams, the strategy for successful prototype builds and are currently in an exciting time whilst JLR expands its product portfolio and embraces change across all aspects of the business.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Ensure that the Bill of Materials is aligned with programme and engineering requirements.
- Ensure that workflow targets and programme gateways are met on time, every time
- Upholding gateway timings for programme.
- Raise and respond to any issues in a timely manner.
- Representing the team in all relevant forums.
- Ensure alignment between all factions of PBO.
- Working closely with Supply Chain, Testing and Development, Engineering Delivery, Programme teams, Finance, BIW, Engineering and all areas within PBO to ensure alignment.
- First point of escalation and assisting in the resolution of parts related issues.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Functional Skills Level 3 or equivalent in English, Maths and Science.
- Experience in Programme Management or Prototypes
- Clear and confident communicator both orally and in writing.
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn new systems and processes.
- Computer literate, including Microsoft Office and Excel competency.
- Ability to mentor and train others.
- A full UK Driving Licence with less than 6 penalty points and no disqualifications.
- Experience of manufacturing - ideal but not essential.
- Understanding AGILE.
- People management experience.
