Junior Risk

A top 100 UK law firm is hiring a Junior Risk & Compliance Lawyer to join their team in South West London. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a small and dynamic team, whilst working alongside two experienced Risk & Compliance Lawyers.

The compliance team is responsible for developing the firm’s policies and procedures and ensuring they are implemented across the firm, and providing advice and training on all regulatory and compliance issues. In this role, you will develop a broad understandingof the regulatory environment affecting law firms and advise the firm on all aspects of risk and compliance.

Key roles and responsibilities will include:

- Promoting the firm’s risk culture and advising partners and employees on risk and regulatory issues
- Updating policies and procedures
- Managing referrals to regulatory authorities
- Supporting lawyers to mitigate risk in their practice
- Resolving internal queries relating to SRA regulatory compliance, conflicts, data breaches, client contracts and engagement letters
- Ensuring firm-wide compliance with SRA guidance
- Preparing for the annual Lexcel assessment
- Managing professional indemnity claims
- Managing the CQS scheme and providing training to staff
- Horizon scanning for new legislation that will affect the firm
- Delivering training relating to legislative and regulatory topics
