An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Croydon’s Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), as a Senior Early Help Navigator based within our new Early Help Triage Team. The Early Help Triage Team forms part of Croydon’s MASH. This is a full-time permanent post offer.

Croydon’s MASH is the ‘front door’ for all new referrals for children who may need early help support or children’s social care intervention. As part of transformational activity to develop and improve responses and services to Croydon’s children and families, we have developed an Early Help (EH) Triage Team as part of our MASH Team.

The EH Triage Team comprises a Team Manager, 3 Senior EH Navigators, a domestic abuse IDVA, and a substance misuse worker.

The purpose of the EH Triage Team is to respond to any new referrals requesting early help services. EH Navigators will gather information referrer’s, parents, and partner agencies, to help identify the right services needed to support the child, according to their needs. This might involve the early help services provided by Croydon or helping the family access appropriate universal services. EH Navigators take a proactive approach in seeking to identify appropriate services and supporting the family or referrers to access them.

**Principle duties**

To maintain a commitment to the service delivery and high-quality support through Croydon’s partnerships. You will identify and ensure comprehensive support to families.

As a Senior Early Help Navigator, you will be responsible for providing advice and information to partners and families to a range of services including health, welfare, education, youth and community organisations.

Senior Early Help Navigators work alongside a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the right support is put in place at the earliest opportunity.

You will receive regular supervision to support and guide your practice and ongoing development. In addition, you will have access to a range of training and learning opportunities to improve integrated working.

As a service, we are continually seeking to develop our offer and input to children, young people and their families. You will work in collaboration with existing and new partners to identify and access community resources.

As a Senior Early Help Navigator, you will participate in the monitoring and feedback of existing and new partnerships. You will also report feedback received from families to improve our outcomes and quality assure experience of service.

You will lead on and facilitate activities to build capacity in the community, this may include co production, training, and representation at partnership forums.

You will be responsible for clearly recording concerns explored with partner agencies and families using a signs of safety model. You will obtain consent for sharing information and onward referrals.

**About You**

You will be a skilled, experienced, confident, and child-focussed practitioner, with a background of relationship-based work with children, young people, and their families; with extensive knowledge of child development and the range of Early Help support that is available to families.

We are looking for individuals who are skilled in the of building relationships quickly to engage families who may be hesitant or reluctant to work with the services.

You will have knowledge of strengths-based approaches and a awareness of child protection and safeguarding thresholds.

As a Senior Early Help Navigator, you will liaise closely with families, management, and wider services to identify potential vulnerabilities and advise relevant ‘safety plans’ where appropriate to do so.

You will manage referrals within timescales and be accountable for the productivity of referrals to onward services.

To be considered for the post, you must be able to clearly articulate complex issues across a range of audiences. You must have the ability to access a variety of systems to have oversight of referrals and data collection. It is a pre-requisite that you possess experience in family work and supporting others in a team context.
