This is a key post within the Sustainable Communities, Regeneration & Economic Recovery Directorate. The post holder will play a significant role in delivering the Council’s Transformation Project for highway maintenance covering an area of 87km² and extends from Upper Norwood in the north to Old Coulsdon in the south and supported by a road network of 726km.
As a member of the Highways Team you will be inspecting and overseeing the maintenance of our highway assets. You will have a good understanding of delivery of a wide range of highways and transport infrastructure schemes including finance and contract administration; have a proven track record of delivering maintenance programmes to very tight timescales and within budget.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and well organised Street Inspector, with experience and skills to maintain the public realm on behalf of the Council and to represent the council at various technical advisory group meetings.
Reporting to the Senior Street Inspector you will also work closely with other members of the Highways and Parking Team, whose tasks are varied and wide ranging.
